hey all i was wondering whether a new front bumper (including the fiberglass mouldings) for a 92 180E should cost $2000, because thats what an auto repair shop quoted me to get a new one- is it just me or does this seem a bit odd?
I had a 180 the same year as yours, and two years ago I watched in disbelief as a guy in a landcruiser (with a tow bar) backed into the front of my car. The grill and bumper were damaged pretty bad and the bonnet buckled. His insurance payed, and it cost close to $10000 for that.
I suggest getting a quote from an authorised Merc dealer to see the maximum you'd have to pay, and then go shopping around.
yea mercs are very very very expensive to fix, a couple month ago a little honda crashed into the front of my car, it got hammered (the whole front is crunched), and i only sustained a little damage to the front fenders and the front wheel got a lil bent, and the poor fella have to pay $13000 to my insurance company, and he had no insurance :(
