RE: Loud Fuel Injection Noise?

THE PURGE VALVE DOES HAVE A DISTICTIVE SOUND TO IT, ITS NOT A FAULT, JUST NORMAL OPERATIONAL NOISE FOR A MECHANICAL DEVICE.

RE: Ticking sound

Months later and the car still ticks. Dealer says "not abnormal." I even tried to sell it, and the two people who looked at it said there was something wrong with the car and were not interested because of the spund. Car purchased in surburban Boston. So now I also know it has no resale value! Any ideas? Thx.

Ian- Really? You'd sell it? I bid $5.
I'll take it off his hands if he pays
me $5.LOL[^][}:)][B)]

My father in law had the same problem with
his Hyundai a few years ago.(I know, don't ask).
At the time he told me that a few months before
he took the car to one of those quick lube places
and the noise started right after.

Long story short:lube place denied any
wrong doing, dealer asking $$$$ to just
investigate.

Well, the next oilchange, we did and I noticed
that there is a little metal lip that somewhat
protects the cam lobe from foreign objects.
Yes, you guessed it, the lube place uses those
lube guns and when inserting it in the hole
they pushed the metal lip down in the path
of the lobe and when the lobe came up it hit
the lip.

Bent the lip back up and noise was gone.

I don't know if this might be the same here
but if the service department uses the same
kind of gun then that could happen.

Louis.
