New to the forums...

... and I could use some help with my not-so-healthy 1987 420 SEL.

For starters, can someone give me the run down on how to refer to my car here in the forums? Some of you refer to body / model type and others refer to engine type. Will someone set me straight on how to talk about my 420 SEL before I make a fool of myself?

Also, where can I find a Chilton's or Hayne's book on the darn thing? Those books (all flaws aside) have been super handy for all of the other cars that I have owned. Can someone offer me some direction as to where to get one? I have tried Amazon and such.

I call my 87 300 SDL either that or the 126 body either term applies. I very rarly refer to an engine model number.

There is a forum dedicated to the 126 body cars. Just scroll down from the main forum list.

You could check for manuals with the dealer. I think they are on CD now and availble. You can also do a search on Amazon.com.
