RE: E320 Wagon

In my mind, the ultimate Mercedes is an E320CDI wagon.

Best mix of power, usabilty, and economy. I can't wait for them to come. Unless I can get a 400CDI instead.

I kind of feel about wagons the same way that I feel about mini vans.

Don't want one. Wouldn't drive one.[:D]

Although I like the look of the E wagon.

RE: E320 Wagon

I completely disagree. Wagons are for practicale people that know where it is at. The only reason we bought the ML, was that is was $20K CAD less than the '02 E320 4Matic wagon that was spec'd the same.

1 drive in the wagon vs. the ML will make you change your mind. I have been passed by many W124 wagons in my travels. Usually they pass at 160+km/h. Not many MLs flying past at that speed.

Still seats 7 and handles just like the sedan. Plus it will fit my stuff that I buy at Home Depot better than the ML.

I have always liked the wagon and may buy a W124 wagon as a second car in a few years if needed. If you have small kids, these are the best.

Dan we can agree to disagree. When I drive a car I want a car, not a wagon.

I like the way I sit in the ML or most other big SUVs for that matter, up above the road with a good view. For my family the ML is very practical.

And I don't like mini vans either.

To change the subject, I did see the new C240 wagon in the showroom last week. It looked nice and was priced considerably less than the E wagon.

RE: E320 Wagon

NO! WE MUST AGREE DAMMIT!

Seriously, the C wagon has too small of a hatch area for what we needed. We have a 100lb yellow-lab/sharpie dog and it is not fair for him to have the small area of the C.

The E wagon was perfect, but I gave the reason above. When the ML came up, it was perfect timing as our '01 C240 Sport Manual was in the shop every week for electronic problems. I will never buy another first model year car.

I hate minivans also and see the wagon as the best all-around alternative. On the plus side, the VW Passat wagon is coming with a new 2.0TDI motor this year. MB needs to step up and bring me a diesel.

RE: E320 Wagon

Regardless of how you feel about wagons, the review reflects the E-Class in general, and very positively, I'll add. [^]

You might want to consider a diet for that lab. Just a suggestion.
