The newer steering wheels.

Okay, looking at some of the new model cars that have come out and pictures of several new models to come, one common theme is that the "old fashion" steering wheel with the "round center" hub has comeback. I guess they have found out how to make the airbag smaller to fit in the round hub. I think they look much better and more "sporty" than the present "rectangle center" steering wheel hubs, hopefully they will become available as after market items.

tough job

its hard to design a sporty wheel considering the functionality built into these wheels today. especially those incorporating, air bags, horn, controls for navigation, audio, telephone, cruise control, climate control, on-board menus, paddle shifting, button shifting, heated rims and being ergonomic.

there was talk that mercedes was developing a sensor in the wheel to detect alcohol as thus making the car inoperable if levels are too high. anyone kmow about this?

RE: The newer steering wheels.

So if you slap on some after shave containing alcohol to go on a date you couldn't leave your drive way?
Great birth control device, but sell fewer Mercedes to missing next generation.
