Thumbs down Fuel Pump Problem

I have a 2001 ML55 Amg suv, I posted a notation about this same problem
back in April of 2009, The fuel pump had died and upon inspection of the
device. It came to my attention, the green lead wire had burned thru the
plastic housing and the plug in side of the fuel tank, The only reason
I am still alive is be cause of no oxygen inside the fuel tank where the
lead was burning. It been seven years now since I replaced the fuel pump
unit and the car has sysptoms of stalling after a short drive and won't
start. Let it sit for a few minutes and then come to life. And seems goood
to go. This was the same problem that appeared seven years ago. After
opening the inspection port under the back seat it was appearent this same
wire showed signs of burning on the plastic cover again. This has lead me
to conclude this probem has returned. This seam to be a major flaw in the
design and implimentation of this vehicle. And very dangerous to the consumer.
