The red sl belows seems to have visited the Oregon coast last week.
Brought in on an enclosed trailer with camera people and video and a couple of models.
No one could get close to the car. It may be back in hiding now but thought I would pass it on.
My guess is they are taking shots for print or online ads and they get noticed much less here this time of year.
A co worker was on vacation and told me about it. I showed him the pictures and he said that is the car he saw. Not being a car guy he took no pictures.
He said it was a gull wing, red, new and had european plates. Pretty much narrows it down.
I saw one yesterday at a Gullwing Group meeting in Sedona, AZ. If there was a red one in Oregon the AMG guy didn't mention it as he told me the silver one was the only one in the US. That wouldn't surprise me! The car is beautiful! Much better in person (as they all are!) and of course drew a crowd. We were told it was the first "public" viewing and no they weren't offering rides!
Here I am posing with a key (to my humble CLK!).
one more...
And for fun, here are some of the 300's.

The reviews say that you need long arms to close the door once seated. Did you try this by any chance? Thanks.
No. Unfortunately sitting in the car was not an option. I'd assume that could be the case though, the long arm, but that's an issue I'd love to deal with.
The major distinction for this car is that it is an all-AMG car, not an enhanced regular MB car brought up to AMG specs. It looks like they tried very hard to stay close to the 300SL Gullwing design of the late 50's and IMO they have done a good job.
Silver with red seats still looks great. I look forward to seeing the car at the LA Auto Show.
I love the look of this car! and i want one quite badly! anyone know how much? suppose to be between SL65 and SL65 Black if thats the case that is not bad considering what your getting, although the mark ups will be crazy....
