At present I'm a Mercedes owner wanna-be and in reading the Benzworld forums have found Mercedes "techies" very informed regarding CIS injection which is nearly identical to that on my '78 Volvo, if I may so assuming as to use the word! Here is my story to date:
Ignition system checks out; Timing belt has not jumped; Fuel presures are within limits; Fuel pump output is good (measured at return line under hood); Relays seem to be working properly;
When engine cranks current shows up at Aux air valve, Cold start injector, Warm up reg., and Lamda loop frequency valve. (Volvo's O2 sensing system).
When running pump and lifting air sensor plate injectors spray but the strange thing is that when the engine cranks injectors don't spray. This seems to be the crux of the no start. Does this indicate that there isn't vacuum enough to lift the plate??? Compression is good, manifold gasket is new and I've plugged all orifices in the intake manifold. I've also noticed a small amount of gas collecting in bottom of sensor plate housing. This seems abnormal.
I'm hoping that one of you out there is the Lone Ranger with that silver bullet I'm looking for. I'm totally out of ideas.
