Can I fry my transmission?

I have been working on cornering using trail braking with ESP off and revving pretty hard. After one session I had a slight burning smell that I couldn't identify. It occured to me that I have always done the heel-toe thing with sticks, and I know absolutely nothing about automatic transmissions.

Is it possible for me to fry my transmission by keeping the revs up and braking at the same time? Or by controlling my acceleration and weight with the brakes?

Someone please tell me I am not messing up my ride.

If you keep the trannie at the "stall" point for a long time it will for sure get very hot. Not sure if it will damage it, but you can be sure that it will get hot enough to cook something.

On the other hand, it could just be your brakes.

it's the burnt smell from your brakes.
