Tiny turnout though. Erwin and Brent were the only ones to make it besides Dave and I who were hosting it. None the less we had a great time and it was a great grouping of people. We took pictures of course and some small video clips sometimes. I'll try and get something up in the next few days.
The real surprise had to be the Star Trails event. While there were only a couple G owners there, MB USA showed up with several G's and I talked them into running the hard trail! Harrold was there as well as Erwin and myself and he drove one of the factory rigs for a total of 7 G's and one Mog. I was the ONLY G that wasn't a G500 or G55 and stock. The trail ended up being much harder than I expected and I had a great time. Many of the G's sustained some small amount of damage in scratchs or bending that silly little bar under the nose of the 55's, but otherwise they did great! I really struggled on the last obstical and had a great time... only to found out I never locked my passenger hub!!!! Oh well, made for a better challenge with only 3 of the wheels turning all day. [:I]
Looking forward to more of you making the 2004 event in Moab, UT!

Had been on a G-Treffen last weekend here in Germany, too!
Many build-up W463 and W460 but also some nearly original keept Gs. Had been very interesting to see how a 2 month old stock G270 LWB did the same obstacle than a nearly 25 jears old 240GD or build up Gs...
Another highligth had been the rescue of an getting stuck Unimog by a 240GD!!!

That might be the reason, why DC never build in hubs ... something that was not there could not been forgotten ... [8D]
Lots of fun camping and wheeling in beautiful central CO. A little rain on Friday night was the only real hint of weather we had. Clouds made for some interesting skies on Friday, but other than that the whole five days were sunny and clear. I'll get my pictures developed this week and try to get a write-up on CGW next weekend.
What trail did you do with the Star Trails follks, Q?
They didn't have it named, just gave me a map. But once we got on it I knew which trail it was. It's called Eagle Rock and it's a fun little trail close to Colorado Springs. A few years errosion and the added traffic from the Hackett/Longwater/Metberry Trails being closed and it was much harder than the last time I ran it several years ago.
So was the previous picture of Erwin taken on Eagle rock? This one seems to be Brent on Chinaman's. I'd presumed the last one was taken on the Star Trails event since you were talking about that mostly. But I guess maybe it was also on Chinaman's, eh?
This is a snapshot from Erwin's daredevil ascent of one ledge. The video is fantastic with the G500 roaring up it... I'll have to post to CGW that sometime soon.
