Heater regulator sliders

Mine are stuck! And it's going to be winter soon. It feels as if some linkage is jammed. The middle and bottom sliders are moving as if they were one slider and are very hard to slide. The top one seems ok. At the far left "scale" of the heat regulator, there is some obstructing the action alltogether. They slide far right, but do not open for full heat.

How do I access the linkage behind the sliders? Or might it be the valve thing in the engine compartment thats stuck?

Pop out the trim panel

This is sort of tough on your truck, and you'd better get advice from another late-type G owner. Mine is easy since the light switch isn't in there. You need to do some other work, and maybe someone like Dutch who's done this on a later style 460 can give better instructions.

But you do need to get the trim pannel surrounding the sliders off to access the linkage back there.

You can unclip the cable and disconnect it from the valve under the hood to then see if the temp slider has full motion. It may have slipped at some time and be out of adjustment. Get the cable into a position that allows the slider to move the valve arm through it's full range of motion, and then replace the clip that traps the cable sheath.
