G55 engine swap to 2000 G500

Does anyone have any experience with putting a supercharged engine into the europa G500s? I know I can just have Kleemann or another company supercharge mine but i wondered if a newer AMG engine would be better. Many available on various used engine sites for $7-9K.

Any thoughts? Any problems? My local independent isn't too excited about giving it a try. I just like the old interior better. Its got to be cheaper than the new ones?

Thanks

The problem would be the modern engine controls which are thoroughly intertwined with the other electronic systems. You would need to transfer many of these too. Then some of them need new sensors (in the steering column, for example). It gets ugly.

I know quite a little about car electronics, but what about using a programmable stand alone ECU like this one for example?

its not worth the time i have a 2003 g500 and i wanted 2 get a 6.3 turbo motor its just not worth it i am a benz tech in south carolina and have a benz star there just 2 many computers 2 do a swap unless u do full stand alone and rewire the whole car (it can be done but by the time your done it been cheaper 2 but a newer g and trade in

best thing 2 do is have someone who knows those cars and the 500 motor and install a after market supercharger or the g55 or e55 supercharger on the the motor u have (its not as easy as it sounds be a hell of alot easyer then motor swap)
