If anyone is interested I'm selling Brand new "24" HRE-Style Wheels/Rims with Tires, these only fit G55 models. I'm selling them on Ebay but I'm willing to take offers from anyone..feel free to ask me any questions
thanks!
And that is the picture of my brothers Anniversary Edition G55 that he is selling. The car is Silver and it also comes with factory installed Tv's in both of the head rests. His is one of the 300 Anniversary Editions made. The car has around 35,000 miles and it comes with 100,000 miles factory Warranty!
Car and rims are located in Southern California and he is willing workout a deal for both the car and rims together
Only ten miles driven.....is that because they don't fit?
lol!!!! no they fit perfectly, my brother bought these rims for his G55 but then decided to sell his car and that is why he is getting rid of the rims.
either that or he realized the ride on them is aweful such that you wouldn't dare try to sell the truck with them that might need to be test driven... there was a truck around me which had 24's on it, and the shop that put the rims on said it rode so bad it wasn't even funny... (and that was on a softer suspended g500) they had a picture of it on their wall... that's not even accounting for the fact that the steering wheel might shake so bad over bumps it's scary...
btw, they should still look "good" on a g500 if you like big rims... they stick out more than stock which is what most people want anyway with this kind of rim. You could argue the g55 flares stick out too far anyway... so they can use the extra width. I'd put my money down the person who sold them to your brother used the "only for the g55' as a trick to sell them as being even more rare and "exclusive".
This all said, you couldn't pay me enough to mount those rims on my g500... i'd wear 6" high heals myself before i'd put those 24" high heals on my truck... and lets just say i'm not switching teams.
good luck with the sale though, i'm sure someone will like them. But in the famous words of B.A. Baracus from the A-team... "I pitty the foo..." if the buyer doesn't get a return gaurantee if he/she hates the ride feel.

Please stop making assumptions about things that you no absolutely nothing about!
My brother owns 2 G55's one is 2005 Anniversary Edition that is his Finances and his is a black 2008 model.
He had these rims custom made from Platinum Motorsport..to be put on his black G55 and it doesn't look good on a black car; and since he is a Ceo of a Investment firm he can't show up to meetings with bankers with Wheels that look out of place!
Worst case scenario if he doesn't sell the rims he will just paint them black and put on his G55 and it will look more fluid!
The Rims look better on a Silver car and here is a picture
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the ride quality period, if you are local come by and put them on your G wagon and see for yourself!
But unless you are talking from experience personally keep these comments to yourself!
just wanted to add look at the wheel gap that comes on the stock rims on a G55 so it can definitely handle 24 inches without a problem..the pictures are of my brothers black 55.
look i'm not saying they wont fit, i'm saying the ride likely sucks. and no i don't have any personal experience but i'm retelling what the guys in the custom shop told me... who drive around in trucks all day long with big rims so i think they have more authority than you... who's trying to sell something... they were willing to admit it and i showed up in a g500 so they still had a vested interest in selling me something. As well, people have reported severe steering wheel vibrations from big rims... so i'm not talking out my butt... i do agree with you though... the rims might ride just fine, and have no steering wheel vibrations, but i'd sure want to know what i might be getting myself into if i was going to buy them... it's called walking in with your eyes open to what you might be getting.
And if the ride isn't much worse, i'd be very nervous about the sidewall strength of the tires, becuase it's pretty common around here for cars with big rims to be off the side of the road with a blown rim and tire in one shot from a pot hole... they end up having to buy another rim just so they can sell them off to go back to stock so they don't have to keep replacing tires.
Not only that but around here most people would be embarrassed to show up with big rims on their car. Most people who put big rims on their car had trouble buying their car used in the first place... basically big rims usually only go on the cars of poor people. (nothing against poor people BTW, but it's not a good spending of money in my opinion). And the few who are driving around with 24's on a current model year (so they bought it new) are usually middle eastern or black. That's fine, but if you plan on doing business with a bunch of stuffy old rich white people, or avoid getting pulled over by the police, big a$$ rims aren't going to help your cause around here.
Again, my point isn't that they don't fit... in fact my point was that they'll also fit on a g500, so thinking they're all so special that they only fit or look "good" on a g55 is trash. I think they make the car looks like a bull dog in high healed shoes, but someone will like them, and they'll look good on a g500 too...
... and if he can't sell them he's going paint them black to use them? Makes no sense, if he has the money he wants them gone and he'll dump them for the best offer no matter how bad, becuase he doesn't need the money. if he likes them he shouldn't give a crap about a few dollars to paint them. I smell a rat.
