G55 exhaust on a G500 ?

Has anyone put a G55 exhaust on a G500 ? I'm interested in this. First of all, what are the G55 exhaust part numbers, and price. Second, is this just a bolt on job or is fabrication necessary. Any info is appraciated. Thanks 2003 G500

Big Joe,

I am am not aware if someone that owns a G500 installed a OEM G55 AMG dual exhaust.

I use to own a 1986 Geländewagen 280GE LWB and I installed an aftermarket dual exhaust.

Below are some photos:

Respectfully,

I like the off-set better on yours James, more OEM looking.

Does anyone have the Mercedes part numbers for the G55 set-up?
And is there a source here that deals in Mercedes parts at a discount?

I'm willing to try it.
I know aftermarket would be cheaper, but something about the original look and sound of the G55........

Thanks !!

Big Joe,
If you go OEM it's expensive! A while back I called Brabus and they quoted me at $3000!CRAZY EXPENSIVE just for some pipes!

As of the 2008 model year (at least outside the US), the G500 is available with an AMG side exhaust as a factory option.

There is no benifit in swapping to true dual exhaust like on the G55's you will not pick up any power and the cost to do it with real parts will probably be $10K.

I had duals on mine and it got to loud. Not its back to stock minues the resonators.

Here are new photos of my Gwagen and I have Magna Flow tips. They are NOT loud and are very SMOOTH. I have recieved alot of compliments from many people especially at MERCEDES-BENZ dealerships and I tell them it is NOT OEM MERCEDES and they are AMAZED of the quality and workmanship. They appear to resemble G55 AMG dual exhaust.
