G55 Conversion to LPG?

My quest for a RHD Diesel G class post 2004 seems impossible as they were made only till 2001.

So the next idea I had was to convert a RHD G55 to LPG, however is it possible with playing around with the sensors and other aspects of the car?

Woul love to hear your opinions.

In graduate school I drove a taxi with LPG. Actually it was dual source - both gasoline and LPG.

I lived in a mountain town and the cab would not go up the steep hills on LPG - I would switch back to gasoline.

But there are no hills where you live, except dunes.

The deal with LP is that in earlier carbeurated cars, LPG was a real loss of power. In a closed fuel injected system, power difference is negligible. The only drawback to specialized vehicle like the G is finding a UL listed replacement fuel tank for LP, otherwise you'll have an unsightly cylinder strapped in your cargo area. If you are able to find something please pass along to the rest of us.

my 280 GEL runs on petrol and lpg.i use it more on lpg because its half the price!
i am happy with the system although its an early version and the latest "sequential" system will only fit modern engines.now the newer version lpg system realy improves the power loss.

only down side is that i have 2x 30 ltr tanks strapped underfront seats.they look like they minimize off roading,but apparantley are too tough to puncture.

A bit late but I just registered here.

LPG in a G55 is no problem, you can do it without loss of power with the top systems available. Prins lpg, a dutch company, is specializing in LPG and I know of a E5 AMG that drives on LPG in Belgium (youtube: LPG amg), which is owned by the importer of Prins systems. Here also Posrsche Cayennes, Dodge Vipers etc run on LPG withpt problems.

The only problem might be that you need an experienced mechanic to put it in your car. Maybe the guys at Prins can help for your region, might be a big problem though. You might just have to send your car to Holland or Belgium company's website: Welkom bij Prins Autogassystemen B.V.

PS: I have no interest in this company I only am in the process of getting a G55 myself and then convert it to LPG.

In Turkey LPG is very common. I been driving with LPG for nearly 20 years. No problems at all.
