stromberg carb

Anyone have a good referance manual or online How To for tuning a stromberg carb. The issue I am having is there is hesitation at startoff or about 1,000 to 1500 RPM. So you know YES I have checked the oil in my carb and it is filled to the proper amount
Who ever heard of having to check the oil in your carb my wife looked at me like I had a third eye.

RE: stromberg carb

I think that I used ATF in the Stromberg on my 1972 220 W115.

Make certain that the thick rubber connection is in good shape, and that the linkage is fully adjusted.

The rubber connector resides between the carb facing the mainfold and the manifold itself. There is a metal plate in there as well, that seemed to be a heat shield. The rubber shock absorber develops cracks, which can produce the symptom you are describing.

Make certain that your fuel supply is plentiful. Fuel starvation can be as simple as a filter that is not functioning. I assume the timing and points are in perfect shape.

I also recall an accelerator supply issue upon pushing off from a dead start. I do not recall how I examined or checked this issue, but somewhere there is an enrichment supply system.

You have one Stromberg, correct?

Books? I can not recall the resouces that I used. I think there was a publication that I obtained from a Mercedes dealer with detailed pictures and instructions. Sorry, too many years ago.

Best of luck.
