RE: Ok... Getting closer to purchase... Give me your thoughts..

I think those suckers are like 6800 lbts so they are MORE! than the G...

I wish toyota would update them. They are letting one of the best made suv just set back and let both there little brothers get all the updates. I understand they sale a lot more 4 runners and sequias but they need to do a little updating on the cruiser.

There is one in the next town over, 93-96 probably with a small lift, ARB winch bumper and 35 inch super swamper tires.

The 'so called' Brabus G 5.8 on ebay is actually NOT a 5.8 but did receive the Brabus B11 Kit. You can read more from the original owner and importer, 'Max'. http://www.benzworld.org/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=164124&posts=9. Although the Brabus and Renntech Gs are rare and sound exciting their would be some amount of liability attached to a tuner conversion vehicle especially without a warranty. If your budget allows I would purchase eiher a '03 or '04 G55 which actually offered a better warranty then the '05 models as it also included maintenance. And in some cases these cars will have a factory preowned 6 yr./100,000 mi. warranty.
Good thing I didn't buy it then. It was represented to me, and on ebay, as a 5.8L Brabus by what must have been the second owner in CA. Mike Serpe had actually seen and ridden in the truck. He claimed it was really fast and Mike is fairly jaded when it comes to speed.

I wish the pictures came up on that old thread because maybe we are talking about two different trucks. The one on ebay now sure looks a LOT like the one that ran a few times just months ago. You sure could have the right one though as the seller is honestly listing it now as a B11 kit on a G500.

The curb weight on a '94 Cruiser is about 4800lbs. They are a little lighter than most G's. It is very possible that the GROSS wieght is 6800 lbs though. That would be the maximum fully loaded, excluding a trailer.

RE: Ok... Getting closer to purchase... Give me your thoughts..

Okay, here's another (probably stupid) question. There are two 2000 G's that I am also looking at, and both are well documented in terms of service, ect... What is the consensus on pricing? Mid to high 30's depending upon condition? Also, was the engine that was shipped with the 2000 G500's LWB the same V8 in terms of horsepower output that is in the 2002-2005's? And one last thing...anyone have any idea what some of the Kleeman mods run... Jst thinking about the long haul...[:D]

Are people willing to part with them for mid 30's? That is an extremely good buy IMO.

I think it depends on miles and condition. There are still a few out there with really low miles and that might carry a premium. I suppose though, with miles in the 40-50k range upper 30's is pretty fair.
