That's my old 230G, my friend took it and put a 280E engine into, he loves to flex. Check the pic. It feels that this G does not flex like standard Gs. It flexes less.
Can you give me your opinions?
Regards
Anthony

I'm not sure there are real "standards" for these things. That picture looks pretty typical of an un-loaded G to me. Things like how badly worn out the radius arm bushings are can effect the "flex" quite a bit on a stock G. I've seen a lot of variability in the ammount of flex that different G's achieve in stock form.
Remember too that if he's got it lifted on taller springs, with factory shocks still fitted, then there's not much "droop" travel left in the shocks and while the side with wheel on the ground is only compressed by the weight in the vehicle, the lifted side can't drop much before the shock stops it.
He could disconnect his shock absorbers and try the same thing to see if shock travel is limiting him before the bushings bind. But if he decides to USE that additional flex available in the bushings (presuming he finds some) by fitting longer shocks, he'll destroy his bushings more quickly.
Thanks Hipine,
Yes he kept the factory stock shocks.
So fitting longer shocks will give more flex but deduce bushing longevity.
Talking about bushings, are there aftermarket bushings for the 460?
I dont think that there is any aftermarket bushings for the G, I used Land Rover Defender bushings with a metal ring to fit to G, this was not a very good choice, they didt last one month in off road use, and there is a serious risk that land rovers illness to pass from the bushings to other components such as axle shafts and CV joints [}:)] Some people say that is even more contagious than the new avian flu (H5N1) be careful handling land rover parts.
I think Q found some that were closer in size to the G bushings than the LR ones pictured. I think they were from some kind of FJ. He used them with an eccentric metal ring to correct caster in his lifted front end. Give him a shout.
I'll tell you, last Saturday night, he was glad to have that hat you sent him. We had a little bonfire at our place to celebrate Guy Fawkes Night and it was REALLY cold and windy. He was proud to say he could probably wear JUST that hat, be totally naked, and still stay warm. Nobody wanted him to prove it....

Haha was excpecting someone to tell me about the LR bushings, they suck [xx(]. Pajero bushings can fit with modif, they don't last a month. Problem is original G are expensive. Thanks Rocha

Hipine , i am soly's friend but i know what hat u're talking about[:)]he told me Q was happy using it, i have the same one. Please say hi to Q.
PS: I'm checking on google about the Guy Fawkes night [:)]
You ahve to go to that place where they cut the iron and make shapes out of it i don't know the name in english ( makhratje ) .
And he will buy a teflon tube with the same width of the bushing and cut it then drill in the middle of it the whole to fit the screw in the middle then makes edges on the sides to avoid slipping from the arm .
