where the frame was damaged

this is where the mount got sheered off the frame, you can also see right in front of that missing mount that the frame is buckled slightly

the bumper where i hit the pole

you can see here that i really didnt hit the pole going that fast, the bumper is hardly twisted up the way you would expect given that the amount of damage i had to the suspension

just some other random shots of the body, you can see where i hit the guywire in one, the engine sitting by itself, the frame being built up with the new springs in place, etc

RE: some random pictures of my crashed G

yeah they are fixing everthing, basically i clipped the lefthand side front on a pole and took the full force right into the left wheel. i think its on track to go to paint in a week or two.

it was really kind of cool seeing the new frame being built up. the only thing i worry about is the orc springs are actually longer than the stock springs, i saw them side by side so i hope its the right piece. the way they bowed in the pictures was kind of odd to me. maybe they just need to settle

RE: some random pictures of my crashed G

At least you faired a little better than the driver of this C180 that I saw on the edge of the Pan American highway in South America the other week...

...maybe he tried to cut-off a Chilean military Unimog?

Incidentally, if anyone wants any W202 parts, it's only lacking the front and rear badges.

Oh man. I feel so sorry for you my friend. I hope your G gets fixed asap. To see it sitting around without a frame and having it's parts scattered all over the place brings a tear to my eye.
Don't you have a towel in your house ?

Well at least when it's back up and running your machine will be better than it was before.
Don't think so.

RE: some random pictures of my crashed G

The springs don't have the weight of the body or engine resting on them.

Is this an insurance repair? I'd have thought they might have totaled it out.

I hope it comes out ok, I'd be very worried.
