Can't guarantee it but this looks like it might have some info on the 617a engine.

Also this manual (ISBN 1 85960 286 X)is excellent for the 300D car engine and has some technical info on the 5 CYL TD as well. I can't find it any more on the Haynes site but the url to the updated version is below.
