Lug NUTS for sale

Does anybody have use for some 14x1.5mm acorn style (closed end) lug nuts in chromed steel with the ball seat like is used on MB, Porsche, Audi, VW wheels?

I have 17 of them that I won't use and would like to get rid of. They've never been used. Nuts like these go for between $4 and $7 at the various wheel and lug places discussed here in other posts.

Make me an offer.

I picked these up from Q on the cheap as he cleared out his old stuff. He didn't have a full set of nuts and since I found out I could buy a full set of open ended cad-plated nuts for only a little more than it would have cost me to get 6 more chromed ones to make a full matching set of these, I decided that the clear cad plated nuts would look more correct on my beater G than the chrome nuts (I think if I put these on they'd be the only piece of chrome on the vehicle other than the little ring around the ignition lock!)

Anyway, I know it's not a common part that mny people could use, but if you think you might like to go to studs some day, you could pick the nuts up cheap now.

I can post pix if anyone's interested.

Where are you finding cadmium plated anything nowadays? It has pretty much been banned due to environmental concerns; and it is completely illegal in the EU.

Are you sure you didn't get zinc plate?

FWIW, zinc will hold up far better in everyday use than cadmium. The old wives tale that cadmium is better came from some misinterpretation and misapplication of standard salt spray corrosion tests.

You're likely right

Sorry, I just associate that sivery "look" with clear cad. I bet they're zinc like you say. Shouldn't have "ass-u-me-ed" [:)]

In reality, I don't know what the plating is. Just have a picture at the bottom of this page:

They look like zinc, to me. Key is the slight bluish caste. Cadmium, in addition to not being generally available, will be a pure silver color.

RE: Lug NUTS for sale

Hi Dave,

Are those nuts still available? I need 10 minimum, ideally a few more for spares, for a trailer that I just bought. I want to use my old 18" wheels on it, and I have spacers, studs, but no nuts.

If you don't have them anymore, do you know where I can get hold of some?

Thanks,

Richard

Ah! Very nice!

Glad they went to good use.

Is the truck converted to studs too? I forgot....
