I recently came across a G-wagen for sale (with what I paid for it you can almost say for free) it runs beautiful, but the body is in rough shape. Needless to say, being a huge mercedes fan, I bought it and I love it. The only problem is I called half of the mercedes salvage yards in the U.S. and have not been able to find the parts I need for it. Europa wants almost 2X what i paid for it for the 5 doors (and that just for the door skins!!) If anyone knows of a place where I can find some nice rust free doors...all 5 (color is not an issue as I am repainting and reupolstering anyway) and a whole bunch of misc parts i.e. speedometer guage, rear vent covers, metal spare tire cover, right side headlight surround,thanks
The G is so rare in the US that parts are hard to come by. The only plentiful source with reasonable prices is Germany - tons of good used stuff and new parts (especially the sheet metal parts) are are not too bad.

Check completed auctions on eBay. There was someone selling 2 G500 doors. They would pop up every couple weeks and not receive any bids. You should be able to find the completed auctions and contact the seller directly.
They will work after what I've heard. The mounts, locks and most other details are just the same. Note that the mirror-mounts are different, so you'd want the 463-mirrors too!
They are the same and will work. Some electical routing and mirrors(improved).. are the only additions. Even the window felts (bell strip moldings) and door seals are the same.[:)] good news I assume
