I was wondering if anyone had the part number for the wheel covers that come on the back of the new G-wagens. They are the hard-case type with the stainless steel (lockable) ring.
My rubber cover is getting tatty and would like to replace it with one of these. Does anyone know how much they cost? Or maybe anyone not wanting theirs and want to sell?
Well, realistically, I'd like to buy the ones from the 2002 G500. I think they may be plastic or fiberglass? I was on wheelcovers.com and they just look a bit plain. I would like to get the exact one from G500, but it is one part or a series of parts?
Also, would i need the full size wheel to fit that cover? I only have a really small spare wheel and tire...

Thanks!
I think, it will not fit.
The tire size is 265-60-18, your size is totally different I think.
Material is metal, no plastic and no fiberglass.
You need the full size to fit that cover.
And it is really expensive when you don't buy it with the car, replacement price ( parts ) is in the area of 1000,-- USD.
If you want a real Mercedes cover you have to tell me the tyre size, depending on the wheel size, mercedes make different ones and each has a different part code. The plastic ones come in a single piece, but the stainless steel ones have multiple parts to them. I warn you that it will be expensive, I was quoted by mercedes £150 for a 235/85 R16 vinyl tyre cover. I just ordered one from direct4x4 co.uk , they do Stainless steel covers with locks, plus you can specify the colour and any logo instructions, i.e. tell them specifically that you want them to copy the design of the print on a modern G500 cover. It'll probably be a whole lot cheaper and it will look pretty much the same.
