My 2000 G500 has over 50K miles on the original Bridgestone Dueller tires. Anybody with suggestions for replacements? I have no problem with the Duellers, wondering how the Yokohamas compare, or any other options. These would be going on the original 18" rims, and the vast majority of driving is on-road- I'm in NY, and based on the snow we had this winter all season tires are a must.

I switched to the Yokohama Geolander H/T GO38 tires that are stock on the MBUSA G500's. I found them to be a much better tire than the Bridgestones for my use - mostly road driving and no snow in Atlanta. They are supposed to be all season. I've heard both good and bad comments about their snow performance.
I like that Yokohama very much. I think it is a very good Allround Tire.
But it is not a winter tire, it is better in snow than a pure summer tire but a real winter tire is something total different.
Possible that some new designs will be made in 18", I read, that a Winter Tire in 265-60-18 was available, when not and a winter tire is neccessary, go for the 7,5x16 MB rim and a 265-70-16 Winter Tire.
There are lots of them available.
Both sizes are identical, in Europe that size is automatically in the papers.
I have the stock Yoko's on my '02 G 500 and also live in Ny(westchester). I do a lot of driving and had no problems this past winter. EXCEPT... off roading in the snow(steep hills) was at times, difficult. Also, they wear down fast.

I have not noticed a fast wear on them over here.
If the original thread starter was happy with the Bridgestones, he'll be VERY happy with the Yoko's.
