Sping for handbreak is missing, one cable does not retract

Hello,

I was reversing and heard this spring release , with a pinging noise , I receive a phone call and was stated that a sping had come off my G wagon 280
Again, I tried MB for the part number and they had no luck , where has this spring come from?

Inside, when u release the break the cables retract , but one cable does not pull backwards. this must be the sping?
this is obvious where this spring has come off , but where? ,
is this spring in the drumb , break shoe , or is this on the cable , near the diff ?
Bill_mclean@computacenter.com

Du u know the part number?

HELP

RE: Sping for handbreak is missing, one cable does not retract

Hi I am trying to understand your spring problem. If you have a spring in your hand I don't think it came from the shoe area inside the drum area. How big is the spring? You can check your rear shoes if the brake cable is not retracting . Jack up the rear both sides release the hand brake and in neutral see if you have resistance as you rotate the wheel.I think you have a stuck or rusted up back brake lever on the shoe and it is not allowing the cable to spring back like the other side.
The spring would help with a picture to see. But there is a spring up high in the rear end area right side, follow the 2 hardlines that are from the leftside attached to the differ. then to the brake lines ect..
up on the right side there is a short large spring for the brakeing when your truck has a load on. I am sure there are some other boys out there that could call it by the right name I am in procees of purchasing a EPC parts list. Good luck
