I just replaced my stock speakers. They are in great shape, but I don't need them anymore. Anyone interested can have them for the cost of shipping, or pickup in Newburgh, NY.
They are 4x6 metric paper cones, all four the same. Came from 1984 500SEL.

Hi I just bought a 80 Mercedes-Benz Euro Style 500SE AMG Package, but it did not comes with a any rear speakers, I'm looking to buy some new one but can you help me with the sizes of speakers I should be looking for?
All speakers are what ???
Rear, Front and Doors? Please help?
Rick
Hi Bobby.
I have the speakers yet, but I don't know if they would fit for you. They are 4x6. I know later models went to a larger speaker for the rear deck, something like 6x9 and additional speakers in the door panels. You're lucky if that's the case, the speaker sizes and placement in my car leaves a lot to be desired.
You're certainly wecome to the speakers, let me know.
You can pop your rear deck covers off and see what's in there pretty easily. Do it on a warm day when the rear deck has been in the sun and the plastic is warm and soft.
Front dash speakers covers (if you have dash speakers) are even easier, they have two small screws holding them in place.

Yikes.
I have no idea how many speakers you need, or what sizes they would be. If you need 4x6, I can recommend the Pioneer speakers I just bought. I listened to every available 4x6 speaker out there before settling on these.
For info on what you need, I'd suggest posting in the AMG forum, or the forum for your car's body style and asking the guys there what they know. Search the forum for older messages too, the search feature works well.
Not sure, but I think your car might be W126. I don't recall the 500SE in any other chassis....but a euro AMG might be something different.
Good luck.
I live in NJ a little outside NYC, how close are you in approximation to NYC? If you still have the speakers and are willing to give 'em up, I would really like to swing by and snag them if at all possible. My speakers are terrible... They literally turned to dust when I went to go take the grill off and touched it ever so slightly So I'm speakerless...

Hello Chris, I am a new member. I listed "pointydog" when they asked me if I was refered by a current member of benzworld. Your ad caught my eye because I recently purchased a 1984 500 SEL, a 1972 280 SE, and a 1967 230 S. Yep!, I am one happy camper.

I would be interested to know what make of speakers have been fitted into your W126. I am having real trouble trying to find quality replacements for my 89' W126 500 SEL as the fittings are quite small both front and rear and also require spacers on the rear shelf which apparently are no longer available.
