Hi, everyone, I am 2008 B turbo owner from Ottawa, Ontario. I am planning to install winter tires for my B. I called Benz dealer for a quote and they ask for $2000+ for winter tire plus a winterize service. I guess Canadian tire may only charge 6 or 7 hundred dollars for similar tires. Do you guys think it is worth to do this with Benz dealer or just with a regular auto repair?

Many thanks!

Hi everyone!

It is always a pleasure reading all your precious comments. I'm a new happy 2010 B200 owner from Montreal, Canada.

My car is a black B200 (non turbo) with the Premium package (panoramic sunroof and heating front seats) and with the CVT. I took delivery of the car about a month ago (my dealer was Rive-Sud Mercedes, located on the South shore of Montreal).

I have a few concerns and questions concerning the use of the CVT. I searched through the old topics, but I did not find any answers. If my question have been asked before, I am sorry for the repetition.

First of all, I did read somewhere in MB literature that we should never change the transmission mode (S/C button) while driving. Is it true? How could it affect the transmission?

Then, I did notice a somewhat big difference in fuel consumption between C and S mode. In urban driving with a lot of stop and go, in S mode, my average consumption is around 12-13 L/100 km, while in C mode it is more around 10 L/100 km. I have already passed the 1500 km mark, but maybe it is still due to the breaking-in period?

For those of you driving with a CVT, your comments will be much appreciated.

Cheers!

I would like to know if i can use these rims, 16 X 6.5, 5 - 114.3, offset 39mm, center hole diameter 71.8mm. Dealer says MB steel rims are in back order and the price is $120 a piece whereas the CT has the above mentioned for $60 a piece. Help in deciding would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all again.

After having our B class since end of February we have one problem.
Our Bclass cannot remember for long time my phone and it will erase it from memory of authorized phones and will stop looking for it after couple hours.

Sometimes it takes day or two to forget but sometimes just couple hours.

There is probably connection to it due to the fact that GL is standing next to it in the garage.
If both cars are together and driven every day it happens more often.

Dealer did many different settings and changes but result is always the same.

Now I have to every morning pair the car audio with my cellular phone otherwise it will not bother looking for it and it is not in the authorize phones memory.

Does any of you has similar problem?

My cellular phone is fine and has the bluetooth connection in the memory for both cars.

With GL it connects always since day one. I never had to re-pair them together but Bclass is another story and now I am at risk getting fine driving and talking without bluetooth.

Hello all,

I am trying to install couple devices into our 2009 Bclass.

Dealer is not able to help me because they cannot install aftermarket stuff and their recommended aftermarket shop had closed down.

I need to find where I can connect to high beam flash on the turn signal.

I need to install one relay to it and when I come home I will flash high beams and it will open my garage doors and turn on lights and other stuff in the house.

If anybody has the diagram I would really appreciate it.

Also I am trying to install GSM/GPS alarm to my car with tracking.
So I can see where is my car and if parked away from the house I will have other alarm outside sensors connected to it.
It goes straight to my cellular phone so I can see what is going on.

I set it up with the B class and this specific model but I need to get 12V from under dash or close to battery compartment plus I need to find 12V somewhere under the hood for the siren.

I do have to point out that we have Bi-xenon headlights from factory.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

My B200 2007 has around 7,000 Km, including my first long distance trip - outside the city. I have droven the car around 2,500Km by my country: Brazil.

The vehicle failed - showed lack of power - for several times, under the following conditions:

speed range: 100 to 140Kmph;

temperature more than 30 grades centigrades and

load of 4 persons(270Kg) and their luggages.

Now, the MB dealer and Brazilian MB are saying the car doesn't show any problem in their tests!

What can I do? I've proposed a road test under the same conditions above, but they don't agree with such test!
