I towel dryed the interior leather/vinyl, but some of the vinyl parts have a white film on them that doesn't seem to come off. Does anyone know a good product to remove this?

I have two issues with my 2003 500CLK, and I was wondering if you guys could give me advice on where to go from here.

1. The arm on my speedometer is dead. The digital works fine. I am aware of one other model that was recalled for this problem and fixed by MB, but have not heard of any recalls for the 500CLK. Anyone have any information on this problem? I have found a shop that will rework it, and also that a replacement instrument cluster would cost $1,000. Any helpful info would be appreciated.

2. When the temperature is over 90 or under 35, the audio system starts cutting out, and will eventually stop altogether, whether it is radio, CD, or integrated phone. I have heard that it could be a problem with the fiber optic cabling, but I'm clueless about this type of issue. If the temp is under 35 and audio won't work, I can turn off the car after a few minutes of driving and it comes back on just fine. Also, if I drive more than an hour in it, it will start cutting out and eventually go quiet.

TIA

Hi all i have 19' inch wheels currently on my 2003 clk500 and lowered suspension with just h&r springs and it is the worst annoying ride in brooklyn with all the bumps and potholes. I previously had 18" brabus rims on my car and coming back from atlantic city i cracked the front driver side rim the rim had about a 1 1/2 inch crack long on the inner side of the rim about 2-3 hair lenth width, and the outer lip bent out but not to much i want to know if its worth fixing and putting back on and have somewhat of a decent ride or its not worth fixing like the shop has told me (im sure they wanted me to buy rims from them thats why) but i need your guys professional opinion, Thanks alot in advance guys

Whats up guys thanks in advance for reading my problem.I have a weird alignment problem i have 2003 clk 500 that was dropped with h&r springs but stock shocks and i did an alignment last week and my whole alignment is out of spec i had my rear camber arm strut replaced due to damage and front control arm replaced, my current tires up front is 235/35/zr19 and rears 265/30/zr19 and everytime i try to make a sharp left turn like i quickly turn the steering wheel to the left it feels as if the tire seizes almost or like it kinda locks up but to make the same turn to the right there is no problem at all also when i drive at highway speeds the steering wheel has some play like its loose in the center. i should mention that i had to change my rims from 18" to 19" because one of the wheels cracked the front left the one that locks up my alignment specs came out 1 degree out of spec on the left side both front and back but the right side is about .5 degrees out of spec the mechanic said i might need to get a whole new spindle with all new suspension parts i read camber bolts would correct that im just a confused kid who doesnt know the right way to go get camber bolts, or get the shocks and camber bolts what to do ? times are tough cant afford to buy something that wont work ..sorry for such along post i really appreciate anybody taking the time out to help me Thanks.

Hi there,

I'm new to this site and I'm also the new owner of a 03 CLK320. Hoping that someone can help diagnose a noise coming from behind the dash. When I start my car I am hearing some sort of popping noise from the dash (it seems to be coming from the behind the cupholder), it lasts for roughly 5-10 seconds then stops. It happens whenever I start the car, whether or not the Heat/AC is on. If anyone has some insight on this problem it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Guys,

I am new to the forum, so please be gentle with me :o

I have a 2003 Clk 270CDI, which has been a great car for the past 3 years or so, everything i have wanted from a car, but recently, and more annoyingly, just as my extended warranty has run out 2 months ago!!!!, it has developed a starting problem, when clap cold, first thing on a morning.

Upon trying to start her up, it immediatly nearly fires, but then continues to turn over without firing for a good 5 mins, then splutters into life, once warm its fine.

I have had it looked at several times, but nobody can find anything wrong!!!!

Also it smells of diesel, and after i removed the engine cover, there is a casting on the front of the engine with several pipes on it, that is wet with fuel, can anyone point me in the right direction please as it seems to be getting worse by the day :crybaby2:

Thanks in advance

Craig

Ok...I was in an accident and my front bumper needs to be replaced...there's a lightning bolt crack in between the license plate and the hood is no longer aligned to the bumper. I went to my mechanic and he quoted me $3000+ for the parts PLUS labor. I went on Ebay and found what I thought I would need...my question is, what parts would be needed to replace a bumper? The mechanic said the lights, and mesh can be saved but I would need to replace the bumper and the grill. The parts I found on Ebay came up to less than $1000...OH BY THE WAY I HAVE A CLK 500 '03 (AMG BODY)
Is that all I would need to replace the bumper? I'm at a loss and I can help but feel like the mechanic is taking me for a ride because I'm a girl  is
$3k reasonable? What about replica parts? I came across alot of replicas on Ebay but I am not sure how that would work. I think it would be OKAY because a bumper is a bumper right? Fiberglass is fiberglass...IDK I could be wrong and I usually am...Any advice or suggestions would be awesome. Thanks in advance guys.
