Well - I went and did a bad thing.

When I was moving my windshield reservoir out of the way during the spark plug change, I forgot one of the hose clamps thinking it was not a big deal and it was on and I'd get another some day.

Well some day came and the thing came off and I didn't realize it was hooked up to the cooling system for the heater in the windshield fluid so it doesn't freeze (pretty cool design I realized) - and radiator juice went everywhere and I filled it with water till I got home.

Now I have too much water in and need to put in some anti-freeze. I remember this thread about how MB anti-freeze wasn't EXACTLY the same as some brand that claimed to be the same and this big uproar over it - so my question is --- is it really that big of a deal?

Can I just use normal antifreeze. It's just anti-freeze right? BENZ anti-freeze? are you cyrus?

208 owners.. My mother owns a 2000 208 430 Cab with less than 50K miles. She only drives it once or twice a week, hence the low miles. She took it in for a regularly scheduled service to Mercedes of Alexandria (VA). Once she received the car back, the idle after initial startup has become almost unbearable.

When you turn it on, the thing absolutely screams until you move the shifter out of park. When you move back into park, the high idle doesn't return. I've driven the car enough to know that it's always idled high after startup (as do many mercedes), but the difference since MB of Alexandria had the car is significant.

Has anyone had similar issues? Could they have jostled something loose (vacuum related) or mis-programed an engine management setting when resetting the service computer?

Thanks in advance!

Wheel came off my mismatched 2002 CLK430. 17" x 7.5J AMG front wheel.

It's OEM equipment for 1998-2001 CLK430/55, SLK, C-class, etc. from the same time period. Part no. is A1704010102. The proper tire size is P225/45 ZR-17.

Asking $150 + shipping (I'm in northern California). Used but in good shape, some curb rash on about one-fifth of the circumference, as pictured (attachments).

I did my best to clean the outside AND inside of the wheel. It won't dirty your bare hands, promise! Leave a message here, or PM me if I forget to respond within the day. Cheers!

I really don't know what else to do with Chanel. I've had four alignments done, wheel bearings replaced, ball joint are also on the list, and my draglink all done with in the past 2 months. Oh,just had my trans.electrical connector and seals done. $280 for that!!! I don't know what it is anymore to spend money on anything else, but Chanel. Please tell me, why she still shakes when I hit 60-70mph? I have to say, since I replaced my draglink and the ball joints. It feels alot better. Hitting bumps, mind you I live around the DC metro area. So,I am not talking about small bumps. I am talking about huge wholes I am hitting, I feel it in the whole cabin of the car. This is how I feel when I drive my car ----, then

I can't even keep up with other things that I want to do. It has been drilled in me. Mike, take care of your car. She will take care of you, my dad would remind me..... I want to stay on top of the things she needs under the hood. Like spark plugs, changing my brake fluid. You know the small things you need to do to keep the car in good shape. But Damn. I can't get to what's under the hood cause my money is tied up with what's going on under the car.

I've been told My steering Gear Box needs to be replaced. $800.00 I was quoted by the heavy man who smelt like cheese. UGH.... Yo, thanks for letting me get that out. Im just over it.... :surrender:

There's a poll going on here, on the E coupe forums, vote for the A5, not the E coupe.

Just some things to keep in mind about the E-Coupe:

- It wants to piss on your kids.
- Voted to raise your taxes.
- Rumored to be a WWII war criminal.
- Has herpes.
- Most importantly - it's just f^cking ugly!

Secure your CLK loving futures today, by voting Audi!

(P.S. - I hate the E coupe so much, I just can't bear to see it win against any other car in a poll on an internet forum.)

Hi all,

I'm thinking about financing one of two different W208's: one is an '03 Brabus B10 CLK430 'vert and the other is an '02 CLK55 AMG, both with ~42k miles and both being sold through legit dealerships. I've read various things concerning the reliability of the W208's, among them the seat motors, CEL/ABS/BAS lights, third brake lights, windshield wipers needing constant greasing, etc. I was looking into getting an extended warranty through a 3rd party but apparently none of them offer warranties for AMG models or modded vehicles. First of all, according to Kelly Blue Book these are both good deals so I just wanted to confirm this from first-hand owners. Secondly, what kinds of problems should I be expecting from these cars if they're being used as daily commuters? How do you all deal with the costs of repairing these cars?

Thanks for all your help.
