Alright iv got an 89' 300E. The sunroof seems to be out of sync, it will not close. I can pop it up and slide it back but it does not just close, i have to mess with the switch just right to get it to be closed. I heard there was a way to sync it so that it can actually find the position when it is closed.

I have a '95 E220 Coupe with a bit under 60,000 miles.
The throttle is somewhat hard to press in comparison to other, newer cars.

The car hadn't been used for extended periods of times, at times probably up to a year or more.

I am wondering, is it normal for the accelerator to be hard to press, as from looking at the throttle body it seems to be "pulling" many things, or could it be from sitting around and some grease having dried up?
If the latter is the case, how would I go about fixing it?

Thanks

Dear fellow enthusiasts,
Knowing that some "parting out" posts appear here, and not just in the FS/WTB section...... please allow my odd request.

I seek the (MB speak "cover") that came fitted with the dealer installed, trunk mounted CD player.
A gray fabric box, w/lid that I'd like to buy (to cover my Alpine CD player) to further tidy up my trunk. A very MB "correct" detail.

I've learned that these boxes are in fact specific for their intended trunk, thus I post here, in the 124 section, my car being a 95 E320 Cab.

Hoping you have, or know of one for sale.....I'd like to buy it, hopefully with it's associated bracket.

Please note...mine must obviously fit withinin.
My Alpine unit? 2 1/2"D X 6 1/2H X 10 1/8" W

Thanks fellows, just another effort to make my precious Mercedes "right" in every way.

Sorry if this is a repeat, I did mention this in my other thread "300E rough idle in drive/reverse" as a reference to another problem, but I wanted it to have it's own discussion.

1990 300E 119k

Car is hard to start hot. Doesn't start great cold but better than hot. Drive around town, go to a store and when I come out 10-60 mins later it's difficult to start. It sounds like it's trying to catch and start but it just keeps turning over. I can try to capture some audio/video if that would be useful.

Thanks,

Ty

Additional info:

I noticed that a quick hot start is great, ie. if i kill it and then restart within a minute it starts great, but longer than 10 minutes no go.

Things I've heard thrown around this forum but don't know about or where to start.

OVP (mine has two fuses, both good and I took the cover off and sprayed with electric contact cleaner)
EGR
ICV
MAS
Air Charge Sensor
Cam Shaft Position Sensor
Coolant Temperature Sensor

Can someone tell me what these things are, what's thier signifigance and where they're located?

The car is shifting very hard from 4th into 3rd on the highway. 55-65mph. It shifts smooth through all other gears. Also it shifts smooth in manual from 4th to 3rd. Only in (D) am I having this problem. There also seems to be a little bit of a "whine" at low speeds. Normal?

Thanks,

1990 300E 119k.

I'm having a few issues, I'll list them all here in case they are somehow related. The car is hard to start when hot. Starts pretty good cold but after running around town for a while and coming out of a store it's hard to start but eventually will.

It idles well in park and neutral but in in drive or reverse it starts to idle rough and seems to miss a little, like the ac is kicking in only it's not. It's not just vibration, it actually runs rough.

The car is shifting hard into passing gear at highway speeds. At 55 or 65 mph if you put your foot in it drops into 3rd very very hard and makes a loud clunk from the rear end like its trying to jettison the transmission. However all other gears shift smoothly. If I shift manually up or down into or out of 3rd/4th no problems. Manual shifting in all gear in all situations is smooth.

I've surfed the forums and stickies but I can't tell what applies to my problem and what doesn't. Some things I've read seem to point to vaccum problem but I'm not sure the proper way to check for vaccum leaks on the tranny as opposed to the engine. I'm hoping something just needs to be cleaned or tightened. I don't know the history of the vehicle, and I've been a toyota man for a while so this fine german auto alot different from what I'm used to working on.

Thanks,

Okay so this is what the area Im looking at.
BenzWorld Image Gallery - X_MARKS_THE_SPOT

My question is: Where does the air intake sensor come out from the harness to plug into the cold air intake hole?

If its missing, shouldnt there be a socket hanging, that the replacement plug, plugs into?

The red X is aprox. where the cold air comes in. Of course the air filter housing and cold air intake is taken off in this picture.

Ive marks some obvious items to help get your bearings for newbies like me.

Now the area circled in red is where Im looking for a loose wire or hanging wire. But I see none. So I wanna trace it back to where it should come out from the harness, but Im not experianced enough to find it on a wiring diagram.

Anyone wanna take a stab at this?
The problem is that some on the pictures won't load and I can't seem to find the tool that is use to clean the tube. I have went to auto parts stores and have found nothing. I have been using a weed wacker string and compressed air but have not been able to feed the string all the way though. Most threads say that the tube running down connecting to the engine above the alternator is the problem but my trouble is with the one running along the engine
