first, thanks for any help you may provide. i've owned my E63 for about 2 weeks now and i still have a smile. i have *way* too much brake dust though. i had the same issues with the multitude of BMW's i've owned and always swapped the OEM pads for aftermarket (akebono, porterfield, mintex, etc) which took car of the dust.

i'm having a heck of a time finding aftermarket replacement pads for the E63. all of the threads talk about replacements for the E55. does anyone here have an E63 that they've found a good set of pads that don't spew black crap?

thanks!

I did quite a few searches but came up with nothing on this. On Google I was able to find an article that was a PR from MB that announced the release of a 4MATIC version of the E320 CDI. But I cannot seem to find a specimen on ebay, autotrader, etc.

Can someone help shed some light on whether a W211 E320 CDI 4MATIC exists and if so what model years did they exist in, in North America?

So, like the topic title, I'm looking to buy a W211 (2004-2005 E55 AMG) or W220 (2004-2005 S55 AMG). I've sort of ruled out the S600 as being even heavier and more expensive to maintain.
I like the look of the E55 a bit more as it seems sportier and know it's a bit shorter and lighter. The S55 were more expensive when new and I'm looking for advice as to whether the S55 have some level of refinement or other attribute to recommend it over the E55.
Has anyone driven both and have any opinions?
Thanks

They are the slider plates that bolt top and bottom of the 8pot Brembos on a W211 E55. I've tried my local dealer and they don't list them. Brembo UK say the calipers were produced exclusively for AMG so they can't get them. Does anybody know if they are available in the States?

I have had this car for close to a year now and am still not very happy with the temperature of hot air that comes from the vents when heat is turned on full. I have replaced the heater control valve under the wiper motors and that really didn't improve anything. Anyone out there with the same problems? I asked my MB dealer and they said it was normal...I don't think its normal to wait 20 minutes before any heat at all comes out on a 20 degree morning! I was also told the loudness of the electric fan was "normal". If I would have heard the fan before I bought the car, I would have left it with the dealer. Other than these two things, I love the car. With winter coming on, I would like to have my heater work better than it does. I have owned many other MBs and all of them had wonderful heaters that would literally cook you if you had it set on full heat. Any advice would be appreciated.
