I have been in talks with MBCA and want to have them put High Performance Driving Schools (HPDE) for Mercedes-Benz Drivers. Every other mark has these types of events such as Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Porsche and other marks. I'm looking for Mercdes-Benz drivers that want to do these events.
Why should you do HPDE?
It’s legal, safe, and controlled. No Cops giving you tickets, No Kids/ Animals running into your path, everyone is heading the same direction, with flagers to alert what’s a head, instructors in the car to teach you and classroom time to get a deeper understanding.
Its better way to use your money than moding your car. Trust me a guy in mini cooper that is trained will fly by you in your C63, SLK55, CLK 63 Black, SL 65 Black and even you’re SLR on track through the turns. Its all of fun if have a need for speed it’s the best way of doing this. Driving your Benz on Road Course is the best feeling ever.
Contact me if your intrested for doing these type of events or have any questions more people that show interest more likely that MBCA will provide these events to us.
Good to see other sections wanting to do some of these. Anyone is always welcome to join us when we do them as we usually have 4 a year between Summit Point, New Jersey Motorsports Park and VIR.

I'm actually prep'n my car for this specific events. I have a friend who drives a mustang and have ridden with him a couple of times and he is in HPDE4. I actually enjoy the NASA events. I'll be registering my 124 for HPDE1 coming up in 2010. I'm glad someone else is going to get something going for MBZ's. I've seen a few C63's, M3's, and even a Toyota Corolla at these event's and you're right it is fun! You also get your "need for speed" off the streets in a controlled and safe environment. I'm planning on starting my own executive service limo service with W140's and to have all my driver's including myself certified a minimum HPDE3 and know that they can handle a car properly.
Keep me posted for a California event for MBZ's. I know AMG has a twice a year program at Laguna Seca and I'm planning to register for that for sure. Doing lots of mods specific for track. My car will no longer be a daily driver.

Anyone in the Western United States is welcome to join us for the Western States Driving Experience in Northern California, October 6-10, 2010.
Defensive driving, autocross, performance driving on the track, road rally, "show and shine" car show and awards banquet dinner all held at Thunderhill Raceway Park in Northern California. For those driving in from other states we'll help get you connected with others in your area for a caravan.
We are hoping to make this an annual performance driving event in Northern California so please come out and show us that there is interest in some track driving!
