For the Fall gathering of the Gulf Coast Coupes, we're looking at Saturday, Oct. 24 at the Sarasota Classic Car Museum which is on the corner of University Parkway and U.S. 41 (Tamiami Trail). Across the street from the famous Ringling Museum and Ca 'd Zan, John and Mabel Ringling's famous house on Sarasota Bay. The car museum has several of their '20s era cars. We'll get a discounted admission price of $6.50 per person. We could even do a lunch there if we have people confirming attendance. They can provide box lunches, soft drinks and even a cash bar if we'd like. I'm not sure what their minimum number of people is though. I'll try to find out when I volunteer there on Friday. There are plenty of motels close by for out of towners who want to make a weekend of it. All we need is a list of folks who will attend.
DATE CHANGE!!! We've had to move the GTG to Saturday, Oct. 31st. The museum is having a special event on Oct. 24. A book signing by Piero Rivolta. He's written a book about his family's car and yacht building. (The museum has 4 different Rivoltas.) I guess this means all ghosts, ghouls, goblins and G wagons are welcome. And as usual, all Benz are invited.

I know you say all Benz, but you are a coupe club. Would it be okay to tag along in my W126 560 SEL, while I'm still shopping for a color matching W126 560 SEC ???
Absolutely! As I said, all Benz are welcome. Especially W126s! I noticed you have a 914/6? Those were some quick little go carts! Night and day difference between the 6 and the 1.8s and 2.0s.

Hey, thanks. Mine was a 2.0 texas car, that I converted to a 6 when I worked for Porsche as a tech. It was a great track car, but it's been sitting in storage for years, waiting for me to have the time to do a full track race car restoration to it.
Looks like I won't make it after all, as that's the same weekend as the Fort Laud boat show, and due to work requirements, I'll be there every day.
