We're thinking of having our next Gulf Coast Coupes get together hanging out on the beach with a cookout. In our planning stage, we would like to get an idea as to how many are interested in coming sometime in October. (You don't have to be an SEC owner.) If we can get a few of our out of towners to stay at the resort, we can probably get a good room rate and have the use of the resort for the cookout and park the cars in a great photo location next to the beach. Attila from Jacksonville and R.G. from Fort Meyers have stayed there previously and can vouch for the great rooms.
To get a look at the resort, and what it has to offer, check out their web site at Club Bamboo Resorts
If everybody can kick in say $10 each, we can probably get the burgers, dogs, buns, condiments, charcoal, etc. Then individuals can bring their own preferred beverages.
So if you're interested in coming for the day or staying for the weekend, let us know ASAP. Also which weekend in Oct. you'd prefer.

Jay; You da man! I always enjoy your Hosting events.
Is this the same area as Longboat Key where we normally
have our events? Or nearby?
Either way; I think i'm game.
If anyone here has not gone to the events Jay has hosted, you really are
missing a good Event. It's a good get together and we have good people
attending.
Unless they recall me to Iraq I'll be there.
I won't do an over nighter, sorry.

Great to hear from you. Actually the Club Bamboo Resort is on Anna Maria, which is the first key you land on after crossing the bridge on Cortez. Instead of turning left to go down to Long Boat and the Mar Vista Restaurant, you turn right and go about a mile north. The Bamboo is on the Gulf side (Left). If we don't get enough folks staying over to have the management's blessing, We'll probably meet at the Mar Vista as usual.
By the way, my son, a Sgt.FC with the Indiana Nat'l Guard, is over there right now in Balad.

OK... All who are interested. Gulf Coast Coupes fall get together.
We're going to meet Saturday, Oct. 25, around Noon at the Mar Vista Restaurant on Broadway on beautiful Long Boat Key (Sarasota, FL). We'll park in the back on the grass next to the water and have the tables adjacent to hang out and have some great food and conversation. All Benz are welcome.
Oh man, I wish I could get down for that. I NEEEEEEEED a break. We are thinking of coming down in December during the holidays and then during Rolex but nothing til then.
Does your son still live on Wichita? And does he have the E320? I never got that straight.
I am moving out of that neighborhood after 20 years in the next week or so which is really sad. Lots of good people there.
Just let us know when you'll be down and we'll get a bunch of the locals together.
My son still lives on Wichita, but doesn't have a Benz. I think he's waiting for me to kick off someday so that he'll get the SEC. Actually, he's in Iraq right now with the National Guard. Its his third deployment in five years. First it was Bosnia, then home for a year, then Afghanistan and home for a year. He's been on active duty since January and should be coming home in December.

i'll most likely will be there, and will probably be coming with a 560SEC and a 420SEL, and MAYBE a CLS500, but I wouldn't hold my breath, I'll let you know later how many and if it's for sure. Oh, and we'll be coming from Jacksonville.
