Chill kiddies. Let it go. NOW, post up pictures of all the cars or was there a rule against cameras also? Some of us that are 2K miles away had some hopes for this meet to see what SoCal could put together - being the Car Capital of the World and all.

Let's see em...and I know there are pics of the SEC burnout. Don't lie.
Actually we were all wearing G-strings And you're right that was dumb because we didn't have 600+ Mercedes.

Then maybe we should be thankful for no pix.

Choptop, this was a benz meet, not a benz show. I think it's great that everyone with a benz shows up, even completely stock, used, or new, benzes. it's a chance to meet other people who drive the same car, or ask questions that don't make sense in type. if this was a benz SHOW, you would have had to pay to get in.

Burnouts are ok for some meets, not ok for others. if the organizers dissapprove of it, you should accept the criticism, and act differently next time. Carlos spends a lot of time organizing these things, and usually has permits for the rose bowl.

If he wants to do something dumb and ruin it for everyone, hell, he can go organize his own burnout meet and not ruin the ones Carlos organizes. Then to top things off he calls the other attendees ricers??? I'm sorry but the "ricers" were the ones that were anything but that day based on the behavior observed. LOL!
I understand that no one wants to have the police called but any time you have 100+ car guys together you are going to have this issue. That is a fact of life. Whether it is a burnout, a donut or speeding on the caravan to/from the event. It is up to the organizer and the venue to anticipate that inevitability in the permit stage [I know that when I have events, I usually have a clause in the permit that accepts responsibility for burnouts and their residue as long as they are safe. That way no one calls the cops.

Since the event was broadcast to 20 or so fora it was no longer a “one of our meets” but an open to the public event which, with no gate, meant that you had no rules or abilities to “request someone to leave” if they became rowdy: And I also assume that, with only one burnout, the cops had very little to do once they got there.

I have participated in car shows/GTGs since the early 70s, more than I can count, and have put on over 70 in the past 20 years with Corvettes, Datsun Z, Mercedes, Porsche, BMW and Combo events so I know how these events always go. That was why I asked my original question. They are intended for fun and at some point, everyone has to bend to others ideas of fun.

NEXT time, either post rules or have a section for burnouts/donuts or find a more reasonable venue that doesn’t call the cops with one burnout.

One thing for sure, BW Events is not the forum for any name-calling or threats to address the issue. Here, we want to see pictures of the event [not the Guys in G Strings –thank you very much] and the caravans up and back. You guys know, the FUN STUFF.

With it being a Benz meet, most of us figured it wouldn't be an issue. In the future it will be addressed. I'm not sure if locale has anything to do with leniency of "rules" but in California (especially places such as Pasadena) law enforcement frowns upon such things.

As for the name calling, the only name calling I see in this thread is the ricer reference. Trust me, most of us love the fun stuff as well but one of the participating members in this thread almost ruined the event for everyone then calls the others who were actually being civil "ricers"? I'd have to disagree there. Just because he has it in his head that he is an almighty ub3r-ultra-limited-edition-6.0L-AMG owner doesn't mean he's going to mouth off and not expect someone to reply to it.
+1

The point of my original post was that here in the Events section the "reply" does not need to be personal or rude or a threat or anything like that. Now if folks want to play in that kind of sandbox, where all types of replies are both expected and mostly welcome, this board has that as well, it's called OT, just wear a cup.

But, as earlier, time for that part of the thread to die, WHERE ARE THE FREAKING PICTURES!!!!!
