Anyways I thought I'd give a heads up to all Bay Area members because we haven't had anything for quite some time. If you will be coming please post in this topic your username and car.
Did anyone get a head/car count? Must have been over 15 cars at least.
Who has photos?
This was a fantastic gtg!! There were so may cars there I didn't even get to see them all, nor meet everyone there! Each car and owner has it's own unique story to tell!! Mostly benzworld/mercedesshop people showed up...
Zack K., Justin, and Nate really pushed hard to make this meet come together, and it really worked, there was a huge turnout, and a lot to see and talk about
There was about 2 1/2 hours of chat at the Towe Auto Museum, and then off for lunch and more talk at the Tower Cafe, then the locals went off for a Pick n Pull party at the wreckers....A great day!!
It was GREAT to put a face to some names finally!!
Justinwrock's 300TD was down but he made it in his family ML, great to finally meet you!! Really enjoyed our talk!
Nate, I missed you at the Volvo meet in Davis earlier this year but met you at last and got to see your burgundy MINT W123. 300D That car is in concourse shape, the paint, interior and engine look factory new. It has to bee seen to be believed. This is the highest standard of care, it's awesome. Glad to finally meet you and see the car at last
Prada25, (the '99 CLK430) It was super you and your g/f cou7ld stop off on the way to SF today. Your blue coupe with the tint looks gorgeous after you detailed it to that extent. The stereo system you have is simply INCREDIBLE, what a good job, is that a cruiser or canyon carver? Or both??!!!
Networkboy, it was GREAT to have lunch with you and swap stories about speeding and tickets
Jeremy (W123 diesel 300), thanks from driving all the way from the coast (swant Rosa) just to be there, enjoyed lunch and your tales about driving in europe and North Africa. It was great to meet you finally!!
Dieselchatter - Drove his MINT black 190 all the way from LOS ANGELES just for the meet - it was wonderful to hear your Mercedes stories, and thanks for coming all that way and back just for one day!!! I hope your trip was enjoyable both ways!!
Garrett - It was super to meet you and enjoy the education about the unique features on your unique W123 euro diesel, the car actually looks very nice, especially in that color (like a seafoam metallic green?) with fabric seats, rear headrests, euro lights and bumpers, and a great story about how you grabbed it so fast and SO cheap off C/L. That story needs to be repeated- the good ones go REAL fast, glad you got this!
And Zack (boardmonger) I REALLY like your W123 300D manual, what a cool car you have. I want to see the others!! Thanks for the warm welcome you gave me, I had a SUPER time at the event and I hope you did too. You and Garrett learned about these cars FAST. I bet you'll be lifetime owners of these cars
SirNik: I really love the great W126 300SD you inherited from your grandmother.
You know what you have there and even with over 300k on the car it still looks real good. You HAVE GOT to take pictures of the fantastic dual exhaust you cobbled from iron fence posts, exiting through dual chrome tips, what a JOB!!!
Incredible. I hope you can keep that car forever. I bet you can!!
Thanks to everyone else who was there, and who I met but forgot to name, I had a GREAT time learning looking and talking, hope you did too
These gtgs are great!!! Worth the time too see the people and their cars.
Thanks again to all who made it happen and who came!!
Thanks for putting this together. The wife (who normally hates car meets) even had a great time. Not knowing much about MBs, I got a ton of great knowledge from everyone there. It's great to see so many good people get together.
Sorry I couldn't stay for lunch - I'll be sure to keep my day open for the next meet. I'll even provide the music!
BTW: cruiser or canyon carver? She's both. Usually in the same day.
WOW! Did I really miss out on such a rare occation. Me and Panzer ('85 300TDt) just moved down to Rancho Cucamonga in the LA area about 4 weeks ago so I can continue my Mercedes-Benz Technical training. I have been so busy getting settled in and everything, that I haven't had much time to get on the internet and forums to see what's up. Oh well maybe next time. I would also have no problem driving up in 1 day for such a special meet. I hope that after my training I can get employed at the Mercedes-Benz of El Dorado Hills, therefore I won't miss such an opportunity again!
