Southeast Regional "STAR CARS"WEEKEND on beautiful Jekyll Island, June 24 and 25 DEADLINE EXTENDED to 6/18 ...... National Concours Judging School, Gala Dinner celebrating the 50th. Anniversary of the Mercedes-Benz Club of America and a Charity Concours d'Elegance for Hospice.
Saturday, June 24, NOON....WE ARE OFFERING A SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY THIS YEAR....a "mini" Concours Judging School. Not a FULL Judging school but an invaluable refresher course for those graduates of a former school who may not have used their skills for some time and are feeling a little rusty. This will be taught by Regional Director Len Sokoloff and be held in the Conference Room of the Days Inn, Jekyll Island. I also recommend it for someone interested in gaining insight for preparation of your own car for judging without going through a rigorous full-day school. A complimentary lunch for school participants will be served at NOON, followed by the School at 1PM. Any donations will be appreciated and go to Hospice.
If anyone has not taken the full Judging school and wants to become a Judge and help out in the next day's judging process, take this course and then work along side a Judge, as an assistant, at the Concours and "learn by doing".
Saturday, June 24, 6PM....Cocktail Party in the Boar's Head Lounge of the Jekyll Island Club Hotel with a Gala Dinner in the Grand Ballroom at 7PM, celebrating MBCA's 50th. Anniversary. The guest of honor will be Jodi Allen, co-founder of MBCA in 1956 with her husband Milton. There will be gifts, door prize, raffles etc.
Sunday, June 25, 9AM - 1PM..... "STAR CARS", Regional Charity Concours d'Elegance for Mercedes-Benz automobiles only. Cars will be displayed in and around the "Millionaire's Village" in the Historic District under the magnificent, sprawling oak trees for this first class event. The recipient charity is Hospice. The last STAR CARS donated $1500 to Hospice and we are hoping that it increases this year. Regional Director, Len Sokoloff will be Chief Judge. Following the Concours and Awards Ceremony at 2PM there will be a catered Lunch at the Villa Mariana, the circa 1928 restored Mediterranean style mansion, open to all Sponsors, MBCA members and guests.
This is a "bring the whole family" event. Bringing kids? Spouse or significant other not a "car person"? There's so much to do on Jekyll Island.
Again, all proceeds from this Event goes to Hospice.
