Deutsche Marque Concours 2004

When: Sunday, May 2
Where: TPC at Avenel - Potomac, MD
Cost: $30 per vehicle (To show, not to just look.)
Spring has sprung, and that means we are now in the season to show off our old and new "classic" Benzes. To regular concours participants, that means it's time to pull off that car cover, clean, wax, Q-tip, and bring your garage queen(s) out! To our newcomers, clean your "baby" up, come out, and enjoy the good weather we've ordered for the day, the wonderful sight of Deutsche Marque vehicles, and the opportunity to meet fellow car enthusiasts.

Following Deutsche Marque Concours tradition, this will be co-sponsored with other German marque car clubs from the DC area - the Potomac Region of the Porsche Club of America (PCA), the National Captial Chapter of the BMW Car Club of America (BMWCCA), and, for the first time, the Potomac-Chesapeake Chapter of the Audi Club of North America (ACNA).

A concours is a clean-car contest and car show. Vehicles are judged by their condition, appearance, and cleanliness. This event will offer two classes: Show (judged) and Display (a people's choice vote). Because the undercarriage of show class entries is not included in the judging, this is considered a "top-only" rather than a true show class event. Judging in a "top-only" event is confined to the exterior, interior, luggage compartment, and engine bay. The display class is one where the general public and participants vote to determine the winner(s).

Depending on participation, the Show class for Mercedes-Benz entries will be separated into groups based on current MBCA national rules.

Event schedule:

8:30AM
Grounds open to show participants for placement of vehicles on the field
9:00AM
General admission for the public begins
10:30AM
Judging begins. Cars not in place on the field by 11:00AM will not be allowed to show
3:00PM
Scores tallied
3:20PM
Wine and cheese reception and presentation of awards
This is an all-day event. If you enter a vehicle, please be prepared to stay through the awards presentation. If you win an award, but leave before the award is presented, the award will be given to the next runner-up in your category. Also, please note that cars not registered for the Concours should not be parked in the show field.

Please be sure to complete the Registration Form (12K PDF) and mail it in right away.
