Hoping to rally a few people to hang out for a little bit on Saturday March 6, 2004. The last mini meet was in Chula Vista so this time we're hoping to have it a little farther North (check me out, I say "we" like I made it last time [:D]).
Does anyone have suggestions on a place with a big parking lot that won't be too full on Saturday morning? Maybe even something a little more central for people from the South and those from the North. Or a nice place for taking some photos of the cars and hanging out? Someplace by the beach? On the bluffs? Anyone know of any cool places we can all meet up?
Hopefully we can get enough people interested. Just post info here! I'll bring my baby:
Could meet early in La Jolla Village Plaza (corner of Noble St & I-5 FWY so easy access. Plaza is usually empty in AM. Could start day off right with my favorite "Jamba Juice" which is right there as well. We could snap a few photos with the MormonChurch in the background ( one of SDs distinctive Landmarks) from there we could rally down to the beach and snag a group of parking spots and take more photos...with the right angle we could get the ocean / cliffs in the background. Would give an excuse to justify my "$outlay" on the new Canon Digital EOS Rebel that I treated myself to over the holidays

I'm up for that! Hopefully my car will be marginally clean on Saturday morning (Saturday is usually wash day). Maybe I'll stay up late Friday night and clean it!! LOL. [:D]
I'm pretty sure I know where that is, but is it on the North or South side of Nobel? (i.e. by mootime or coldstone creamery - note how I got reference to TWO ice cream places in one shot!! hehe..).
You can be the official photog for us Thomas. I'll bring my camera too so I can snag some photos. Maybe I can get my wife to come too and show off her new MDX w/ video in the headrests and all the other goodies. She probably won't want to come but we'll see. If I'm lucky, maybe my stereo work will be done by then too and I can show that off (it might be cutting it close though so I'm thinking it probably won't be).
What time is good for everyone? Is 9 a.m. or 10 a.m. too early or too late for everyone?
Hey, I think I can make it too. 10am is better for me. That'll either give me time to wash my car or get enough sleep after washing it Friday night [:D], good thing I got a couple of new work lights.
So, isn't that La Jolla Village Square? The one with the Islands and California Pizza Kitchen in the parking lot (had to keep with the theme of food.) Or is it the other La Jolla Village across the street where BJ's and TGIFriday's is (more food, [:D]). If it's the Square, should we meet near that fence looking across to the tabernacle? If its the other plaza, should we meet at the end lot over by BJ's?
Yeah, getting pictures with the rocket towers in the background would be cool. I've thought about shooting from the Square parking lot before, but you have to deal with the fence. Might still work for a nice picture. thomasbrown24, I still shoot film, but I may have a lens or two you might like to try[8D]. And I'd like to see your rebel. I'll be bringing my film camera and my little P&S digital. Now if I could just fit a ladder into my R170[:o)]
oooooohhhhh... BJ's... that place has great pizza, etc! Have any of you tried their cookie/ice cream desert? You have to pre-order it with your food but it is THE most fabulous thing ever. I haven't had one in years. Definitely a must try.
I imagine the parking lot is probably the one on the South side since you can't really see the twin towers from the North parking lot (that I'm aware of anyway).

10am , (South / East Side)of LV Square on Nobel, in front of Jamba, CPK, Daphne, Moo-stone:-) , Fins,etc.
Should be fun! I'll bring camera and tripod. We'll Take group shots and then we can do individual car shoots as well. I know the Chevron Car Wash (corner of Nobel, Costa Verde Blvd and Genese...by Albertson, McDonalds), opens at 8am, That's where I'll be. They do a decent job, sometimes I can see the swirls (dark cars downfall!) when I go there and sometimes not(?) but they are no worse than any other car wash I have been to in the area.

I haven't done anything to my stereo yet so you'd be ending up with only what you already have!! hehe..
Actually, I'm fairly sure the speakers have been upgraded (all except the sub), but I don't know to what. I was told MBQuart, bit I haven't verified.
I should know what others options I have for the stereo by the end of next week, but I'm not sure when the install will be. [:(] Soon I hope!
