Took my CLK430 with 235/35 R19(Front) & 265/30 R19(rear) for a wheel balance last week since there was a slight vibration to Discount Tire. They made the vibration worse.
So I took it back in today and they tell me that the front tires seem to be "splitting" (a 2 inch long line going across the thread of the tire). Common issues with this particular model of tire I was told
They want to replace it prorated with Hankook Ventus V12.
1) Has anyone seen this issue before?
2) I have warranty on the tire, shouldn’t it be 100% covered instead of prorated?

No offense but you are driving a really heavy German Beast and you are using some of the cheapest tires in the world on it? Of course its not safe. Sounds like you are going from one cheap tire to another cheap tire. You want it made right or you want it made really fast and cheap? Stick to Michelin's, Bridgestone's, Continental's, etc. Even Goodyear wont split like Kumho's will. Dont try to be ballin' on a Kmart budget when you got such a nice ride.
If you dont know- all tires are prorated after a certain amount of miles. You have to check that brands fine print. Some companies replace while some pro rate. So you have to ask yourself one question- How much is your life and your safety worth when it comes to tires?
Hope you make a better informed decision on your next purchase.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

It depends on the warranty you have. If you purchased the Certificates for free replacement through your local Discount Tire, they should be covered. If you didn't every tire you purchase in-store at Discount Tire or America's tire comes with a free Pro-rated road hazard warranty unless otherwise specified.
They Hankook Evo12 is a great tire. Consumer reports rated it at the top of the Ultra High Performance category a few months ago. This tire may or may not be a good option for you depending your your driving style, conditions and vehicle needs.

No offense taken Runninrebel211. However, I have had no issues with these tires before and love the handling and performance in dry and our wet Seattle weather ( I do like the to push the car when possible). I prefer the Kumho SPT over the bridgestone Potenza and continental sport contact based on past experience.
Thank you, Discount Tire Direct. What would you recommend as good performance tire for dry and wet?
For wet and dry traction, the Ventus V12 EVO is at the top of my list. I wouldn't hesitate for one second to run this model on my vehicle. Another great option would be the Nitto Invo. This is a VIP (luxory) performance tire and since it has an asymmetrical nondirectional tread pattern, it can be rotated from side to side which helps with even wear and longevity.
