Hi, I have a 08 C300 and just bought some 19" wheels. I need to find a set of tires (225/35/19, 255/30/19). Any recommendations? This car is an everyday commuter car so need to balance performance, style, and tread life. Want to spend around $8-900ish....

I like Michelin MXV Primacy for my S-class and for my wife's Lexus LS 430. I've had them on an E-class and a couple of other European cars. They aren't high performance tires, but they stick pretty well, wear well, ride soft, and last. They are in your price range if you look for deals.
I also like Continental ProContact (I think that's right). I've had a couple of sets of those on other Lexus vehicles and on a SAAB 9000. They are less expensive than the Michelins and are about the same thing except they seem to ride a little harsher.

I just checked both of those and they don't come in my size Keep in mind this is a C300 so load index is 92 front 94 rear. I'm having a bitch of a time finding good tires for these specs and local tire shops keep recommending tires that are 3-4 points under the load index. I'm no tire guru, but I thought that was too much (like 100 pounds!) below the recommended load.
I looked up some information on your 2008 C300 Sport and based on our guide the sport model came with 17" wheels or 18" wheels. The 17" option shows the load index on the OE tires as 91V front and 91V rear. The 18" OE tires shows up as load indexes of 88Y Fronts and 90Y rears.
Although the sizes you are looking at are closest to stock, there are also a few other sizes you can consider to widen your search:
Front: 225/35-19
Rear: 255/30-19
Front: 235/35-19*
Rear: 265/30-19*
*These are slightly larger than your OE tires in overall diameter and width. They will have a small impact on the accuracy of your speedometer. It is recommended that you have your vehicle’s computer updated with the new sizes if you choose to run them. For speedometer information please see our Tire Size Calculator to compare OE tires to alternatives.
Based on the information above the Michelin PS2 should be a great tire for you. (235/35-19, 265/30-19) You can also consider less expensive alternatives like the Nitto 555 or the Falken 452.
Hope this helps.
