Largest wheelsize before rubbing on a W124

What is the most ideal (and largest)wheel and tire combo that i could possibly mount on a w124 without shaving the innards of my fenders!

would it be possible to have one of those sets who have the really wide offsets at the back?

How about a 1987 300TD, what's the largest combo wheel/tire? I've heard 225/40/18 on 18x8

Anyone know??
