do the w123 chasis have the same suspension

I am a new mb owner, and have found that my older 240d can be quite attractive when it has fresh paint. I would like to go a littly bit further and possibly lower it an inch or two. As you all know doing something like this can be quite discouraging while looking for the correct parts. To cut to the chase, I was wondering if all of the w123 series chasis have the same suspension of coil springs? or if anybody knows how I could lower my baby about two inches?

I will post pictures when I am done.
