yellowing headlights (no sanding needed)

well, when I came home with the W210 a while back now, the headlights were absolutely killing me, so I went on a hunt...

and this is what I came up with...

people have posted MANY different solutions involving sanding, etc...

you apply via an applicator pad, rub around for a bit as you watch it disappear, and wipe away with a micro fiber...

all I'm saying is...
its epic, its cheap, less labor, and it works...
turtle wax ice interior cleaner

does this!

here's a vid of me & the subaru last week, sorry for the cellphone quality, but I had to go, and it was the quickest means of showing,....

What I think is happening is the dressing when applied to the headlight makes it temporarily look clearer and I think any dressing would have the same effect. This is similar when I apply a dressing to a black plastic on some cars that turns grey, it makes it look like new for a few weeks at most.

If its a Cleaner type wax then its actually buffing off a light layer of the crud that has built up. I was using Meguiars Plastic X and it did a so so job by hand. Still a lot of crud stuck on the lights when the headlights are on , then you can see them clearly. Im going to try Meguiars Cleaner Wax and see if it will take off the haze. Thanks for the tip.

I must be missing something here. You state you cleared the headlights of a W210. Then you show us photos of tail lights that are not a W210 (unless you modified them). Then you post a video of your Subaru, what does that have to do with anything? Then you don't have a W210 listed in your signature. What gives?

I usually go to my buddy's shop and use some kind of industrial grade plastic polish compound. It works wonders!
Unfortunately I don't know what it's called or anything. They just have it in an unmarked plastic bottle. Looks like what they use for ketchup in a diner LOL

The best thing I have tried for getting the yellow haze off my lights was a little standard car polish on a soft cloth, which is rubbed in, in small circles. Polish off with a clean, soft, dry cloth. This gave me great results. DO NOT USE T-CUT or ANY TYPE OF ABRASIVE CUTTING COMPOUND, JUST NORMAL CAR POLISH.
