there are a lot of products to choos from when detailing your baby. but you have to make you decision based on your wallet.
Zymol is very good but it's expensive. more for high end cars.
Mothers - is like the the "best buy" for me. since I have a C-class I don't see the need in spending all my happy hour money on Zymol. If I had a CLS, I would probably jump on the Zymol or other high end products. that's just me.
Adams - haven't used yet. their prices seem reasonable though.
the list goes on, but I've learned that it really comes down to what you want to spend to beautify your ride.
keep on benzin'

Look at the address on the bottle of Zymol blue cleaner wax at your friendly auto supply store. Look familiar? If not, pick up a bottle of Turtle Wax....wow! The same address!!

I didn't know that Turtle wax and Zymol were related!!! Interesting????? I don't use either one so thats news to Me. Now, I have a question reguarding "layering wax". When I put a coat of wax on my car, and buff off the excess, How thick of a layer of WAX is left on the car? (I understand that you leave something) But if I put on 20 layers of wax, will My car be TWICE as shinny as if I only put on 10 coats? My understanding (so I have always thought) is that if your FINISH on your car is POLISHED to the MAX, (clear coat is polished FLAWLESS) then 1 coat of wax will give you a PERFECT PROTECTION for your FINISH!!!!! So, I always though that wax was for PROTECTION, And POLISH was for SHINE!!!!!!!!!Thanks!!!

I've never been a fan of Turtle Wax. probably because they use #3 yellow carnuba and not #1 yellow. now I'm turned off that Zymol is affiliated with them.

The Zymol that you can purchase at retail is ultra cheap watered down junk in a bucket. There is professional grade Zymol, but its VERY expensive. It contains over 50% pure carnauba. Retail Zymol contains between 5-7% carnauba. A small tub costs well over $1000 for the real stuff. Unless you have a $100k+ car, there isn't really a reason to use the pure stuff. Most cars will do well with Zaino. Zaino makes a full range of pro grade synthetic polishes that actually come quite close to real Zymol for a FRACTION of the price. I've tried almost everything out there, retail and pro, and nothing has topped Zaino as of yet (have not tried Adams yet tho!).
No is technically correct on the layering question, however, I think you miss the point. Layering wax does not make your car shiner. What layering wax does is add "depth" to the shine. This is not to mean depth as in the thickness of the wax coat. The thickness of wax coats is measured in microns. Not very thick, but then again, it doesnt have to be to get the benefits from the wax.
Now on to the polish vs wax question: What polish does depends on the kind of polish you use. There are polishes that are designed to remove some of the clear coat and erase imperfections. There are also polishes that contain no abrasives that are designed to nourish the paint. Adam's Revive Polish is one example. So, polish is to correct, clean and nourish your paint. Once polished, then the wax enhances the polished finsh and allows it to shine. Granted your paint will shine after a complete cleaning and polishing, but not for long before oxidation begins to do its nasty deed on the surface.

No, not correct. There is a new product from P21S:
Made with 100% pure carnauba wax!
P21S 100% Carnauba Wax is P21S’s first car wax made with only pure carnauba wax. No beeswax or paraffin wax – just true Brazilian carnauba. You’ll see the same deep reflections and shine you’ve come to expect from P21S wax with an even more impressive wet look. Your vehicle will ripple with gloss under a coat of P21S 100% Carnauba Wax!
That 100% carnauba wax seems like someone's either fudged figures or interpreting % in a special way.. I thought Zymol Royale had something like 70% carnauba, and that already costs something like 10k a tub(refillable for life or something like that). Can't imagine a 100% carnauba wax going for 50 bucks a pot.

Its called "vintage" wax.. comes in a expencive looking see through cube.. and its refilible for life. 2000$, do a search...
When i use store bought wax its ok, like NXT or mothers.. when it rains the water will bead up nice... but once this Vintage wax was on my car, the detailer turned on the garden hose on the hood and NOT ONE DROP STAYED ON, this wax was the real deal and had to be applied by hand... yes litteraly by hand
