Clearcoat on a 88 560SL?

I've purchased a new to me 1988 560SL that's lived it's life in Arizona. I'm in Texas and the car is in process of being transported. It is immaculate with only 44k miles. White exterior and cream interior.

Heretofore I've been extreemly happy with Claymagic and Automagic products for my 2003 Tahoe. Here's my steps:
1) hand wash & dry
2) Claymagic paint
3) Wax with Automagic #22A wet wax & buff
4) Clearcoat with Automagic #78A Clearcoat & buff.

Question - Does an 88 have clearcoat and are these products okay with that old a finish? The finish is showroom perfect.

It seems that clearcoat was only applied to metallic colors. Your Artic White is a single stage. Because of that, your detailing products are not as critical, so you could probably use your normal routine. Good luck on your 'new' car. Sounds like a great find! Make sure you visit the R107 Forum for questions on the 560SL.
