The only reason I wouldn't go for a repaint is color matching on a dark metallic paint is not easy.

Which means touch up is going to look horrible.

Before you consider a repaint, use touch-up. Heck, have a pro try touch-up and color sanding.
In my experience, repainting is far riskier than just touching-up and GOOD color sanding. You're very likely to have overspray on other areas of the vehicle, significant orange peel, etc...

For $300? I must say that I definitely doubt that you'll be getting a quality repaint on a panel for that much. You'll be spending at least double for the panel, at least.

I've seen, and quite uncomfortably consistent I might add, these errors on repainted panels. This from high-quality body shops is very good standing.

Like I said, overspray on random areas of the car because of bad prep, orange peel, dull finish, etc... I'd rather have a barely visible, well performed color-sanding repair on an already less-than-visible, tiny little spot.
...Than a whole panel that doesn't match, bubbly, dull finish etc...

Watch out, try color-sanding from a professional instead.
