Question Detailer - North Bay

Would appreciate recommendations for a professional detailer in the north san francisco bay area?

Typically what is good rate to get a car detailed?

Also. would the engine get hurt by steam cleaning it?

Thanks!

I think in the SF bay area from wqhat I have heard that about $250 should be a good job.

I wouldn't pressure wash anything under the hood, you could get water on things that should never have it.

You'd be amazed how nicely spritzing cleaners carefully on areas under hood, with brushes and socks and old rags and t shirts can clean things up in there.

Also, Nev-R-Dull wadded cleaner will polish out the air cleaner housing just beautifully.

Be sure and clean out the leaves an crud in the cowl around the windshield. Failure to do so can cause lots of trouble.

I think a lot of the interior and under hood stuff you could do your self to save $$$.

Don't have a specific detailer to recommend cause I have been gone 3 years now from there.

I got my car detailed from a local guy who comes by our shop for $125. He did a complete outside wash, wax, tire shine, engine bay and vacuumed the inside. My interior was pretty clean so it didn't need it done.

I had to make a last minute trip to L.A. a few months ago. I opted to drive and didn't have time to give the car a good cleaning before-hand so I dropped it off with Charlie at L.R. Spencer Co.

Had the car washed, polished, waxed, carpets shampooed and the trim fully detailed for about $125-50 bucks. They did a great job on the car. They handle the restoration of classic MB's and know how to do the job right.
