Arrow Homemade tire cleaning solution?

Hey all, was wondering if any of you know of any homemade tire/rim cleaning solutions? Something simple that'll clean off light brake dust off rims and prep the tire for tire dressing. Thanks!

I use my Car Wash with Paint Conditioner on my Tires and Rims and Microfiber Towel.

On an occasion I will use the Meguiar's Wheel Cleaner, but I am finding that good ol' Car Wash Shampoo with some Elbow Grease works wonders.

I'm funny like that though...

Once, twice a week I use the California Car Duster on my Rims.
Try it, you'll be amazed at how much comes off.

Thumbs up Mark

Look up Charlies soap. Excellent for tires & rims and other items including
lovebugs. Non toxic and many uses.

I wash my wheels with the same thing I wash my paint with. I also wax them with the same stuff I wax my paint with.

I even wash my tires with the same stuff I wash my paint with.

I think the specialized wheel cleaners and waxes are a little bit of a marketing ploy...unless your wheels are really trashed, you don't need something special for them. My wheels are clear coated aluminum, so the surface is pretty much the same as my painted surface anyway.

I wash them every week when I wash the rest of my vehicle. The only thing I do different is use a soft brush instead of a sponge to wash them.

For tires, you may want to use something a little more aggressive to get tire dressing buildup off (if that's an issue), like dish soap. Dare I mention that 4-letter 'A' word that gets so much attention here?

This is just nuts! Sorry; I couldn't resist just having some fun.

That is probably the only clean [pun] 4-letter word that gets some passions rising.

To make home made tire cleaner you had to have at some time bought the stuff your using,so just buy some amror all tire cleaner...order it online here for 1.61 a can, each can would last about 10 car washes per say,5 cans would cost you 8.05 us and add shipping and handling that's 17.05 and you can get probably 50 tire cleanings minimum, if you use it sparingly probably more, just a thought....
