Research shows that 52% of American car owners wash their cars less than once a month - and 15% never wash their cars. An estimated 37 million cars even smell because of interior garbage, according to a consumer survey conducted by the International Carwash Association (ICA).
I had a neighbor (eccentric as hell) who bought a pair of new 300D's in 85. He NEVER washed them; they didn't look too bad 15 years later as they just looked beige instead of white.
Have a current neighbor with a 2000 E320. I remarked on his clean car recently but commented the wheels didn't look very clean. Found out he had just had it in for its ANNUAL wash & the wheels would not get any cleaner. Car is garaged but he's driven it 105k. Yuk!!!

not to use the same smile over but........ ........
I realy think no matter what year your car is or make or model, if you treat it right, it will treat you right, and that includes washing it. I wash my car twice a day...... ok not exactly once a week, but if I could wash twice a day lord knows I would....LOL...just joking....

My W124 will be 20 next year and you can have a new born crawl all over the interior without fear of catching some kind of flesh eating bacteria lol
I see C classes that have been on the road less than 5 years and they look really disgusting. Also some people really are slobs inside their cars...
for crying out load clean the soda (coffee or what ever) spill before it dries, collects garbage and turns your cup holder and surrounding console into a huge petri dish of sticky smelly bacteria....uuugh!
If some people literally live inside their car then what do their houses look like? Yuuuuuck.

Haha, last month when I went to my aunt's house in Iowa I went in the back seat of their Sienna. I found a cup of orange soda (the cup from McDonald's kind). I picked it up and the bottom of the cup was pretty much non-existent. The cup holder itself became the cup. I was disgusted so I made my two cousin's clean the whole car. We vacuumed the interior, wiped everything down, and even washed the outside. The Sienna is white but it looked grey from all the dust on it. Heck, there was dust and dirt from Texas and California from the year before, before they moved to Iowa. It was amusing.
I have detailed cars on the side and the biggest and some common thing to see in a car that is not washed is french fries....LOL. I find them all the time in peoples cars.......I was driving and saw a lady driving Dirt with a hint of car some where.....She was going real slow so I can tell she couldnt see out the car that well.

A lot of people just don't wash their wheels at all.
I see those cars everyday with a whole bunch of rust. Wash outside and inside of the car every week. The van gets a wash once a month since I don't drive it..... that much. The funny thing is that everyone notices that my benz is for long repairs cause the van is always clean.
